Husky A-1B-180 Demonstrator

Our lovely Husky A-1B-180 demonstrator has now gone to it’s new home in Southern Germany.  Last week, Bob Pooler (MD of Aviat Aircraft (UK) Ltd) flew the aeroplane from it’s base in Shropshire to Stuttgart Airport in Germany, where it was officially handed over to it’s new owner.

Bob described the trip as very enjoyable – favourable tailwinds meant the 600nm trip took only 4 hours 20 minutes flying time, routing via Wevelgem (EBKT), Belgium. Although the weather was far from perfect (IMC for a substantial part of the trip), the well equipped avionics package fitted in this aeroplane made it a very straightforward flight.

Bob commented that, as on previous occasions when he has visited Wevelgem, the Police/Customs officials at the airport were extremely welcoming and friendly.  “It’s like visiting an old friend”.

G-DOGY’s new owner is planning to immediately equip the aeroplane with Retractable Skis to take advantage of the excellent winter flying opportunities around his home.
